Pilgrim Lutheran Church Celebrates 65 Years Serving Menomonee Falls
Pilgrim congregation to host Branches Band for a celebratory concert.
MENOMONEE FALLS, WI — Friday, May 10th, 2024, marks the 65th year that members of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Synod, have been worshipping in Menomonee Falls. To commemorate this special occasion, Pilgrim members invite the community to attend an anniversary celebration and concert to take place in the school parking lot on May 10 beginning at 6:30 PM and featuring the music of Branches Band.
A mission congregation built on donated farmland; Pilgrim Lutheran Church has seen many things change over the years. Yet one thing remains the same, the preaching and teaching of God’s Word is the number one priority of the congregation. Pastor Collin Vanderhoof sums it up this way: “In our ever-changing world, how reassuring it is to rest our confidence in the unchanging Word of God. Pilgrim has been blessed to hear and share God’s Word for 65 years and we look forward to many more.”
Asked what makes Pilgrim so special to her, longtime member Irene Lape says “…the homey atmosphere. It still feels like a small church even though it is not.” Chris Bachmann, also a longtime member of the church adds “What makes Pilgrim special is the people. They were so welcoming and friendly and they greeted us with open arms.”
Branches Band has played at over 600 churches in all 50 states and Canada performing hymns and original songs with guitar, piano, percussion, and vocal harmonies. All ages will enjoy this musical experience.
